Specific work

Here are some works design by Karim Rashid.
As a Prince of Plastic, Karim Rashid definitely likes to use plastic in his designs
because its materials that have wonderful properties, it is durable,
malleable, and can be quite comfortable.

With new technologies such as rotomoulding,
he can create sensual and organic shapes that have never existed.
Using plastic also enables his designs to be more accessible on the market.
So, let take a look with his impressive design.

One of his works “Isola 8"lounge is name derives from
the Italian word for “island” and the number of people
that this compelling design accommodates.

“The inspiration for Isola was to create an oasis from the static world,
an island for eight that offers a myriad of seating solutions,” says Karim Rashid.
The swirling form, he adds, suggests not only an island but also the symbol for infinity.

Ideal for lobbies, lounges, libraries and a wide range of other public venues, Isola 8 combines great aesthetic possibilities with environmentally responsible manufacturing practices.

And from a green standpoint, it's important to note that Isola 8 is constructed with FSC-certified laminated wood products and soy-based foam.

Kloud Chair was inspired from the fluid and soft forms
found in nature to arrive at the simple yet sensuous.
The Kloud chair lends a new meaning to comfort and
design in any modern setting, whether public spaces,
offices or residential, bringing the finest design to public space.

It was constructed of a laminated wood base frame
with rubber webbing under a fixed cushion.
A tubular steel frame anchors the foam body,
deeding additional strength and structural support.
Upholstery options for Kloud include leather or fabric in a variety of colors.
Measurements: 38″ W x 28.5″ D x 30.5″
